so long elementary school!
Katie's leaving ceremony was beautiful and we're very proud of her. But for me, that wasn't the real story of the day. Because Ian's a teacher, it's very rare that he can attend school functions (especially in June!) because it's intensely busy and he's involved with all the year end activities with his students. But he managed to get special permission to attend Katie's leaving ceremony and decided to surprise her. The look on her face when she spotted him was almost more than I could take. And she could not stop smiling. She sat in her seat and kept stealing glances and grinning and grinning. It was priceless. A real testament to the love between those two.
Katie's all time favorite teacher retired last year, but made an appearance for the ceremony. Before he could even enter the building, she bounded out to give him a big hug.
The girls all dressed up. Such sweet little things.
And of course, the ceremony was right at nap time. George having a little rest with his precious digger (and Lila running around in her bare feet and pageant dress).
The look of delight and surprise on Katie's face...and the smile...and the stolen glances...and the non stop grinning. So precious.
And an ice-cream party and Photo Booth ended the afternoon. So much fun!
