1st trip to the dentist
George, today was your very first trip to the dentist. I don’t know exactly what happened, but I’ve just forgotten to take you to the dentist before now. Patty (our hygienist) took both of you into the room while I drove Katie back to school. When I came back, Lila was in the chair, and you were sitting on a stool beside Patty, talking her ear off.
Lila, you were proud and excited to show George exactly what he needed to do. You gave him a couple pep talks before the appointment about what to expect and the cool stuff he would get when he finished…like his very own toothpaste, and a new toothbrush…and the grand prize…his own floss! It was all very exciting.
I’m very grateful for the benefits we receive through daddy’s work. Taking six people to the dentist regularly would be a real stretch for us. I’m also grateful for our dentist and hygienist. They’re fantastic. You all think going to the dentist is really fun.
George and Lila, you love Scruffy so much. You both wish we had a dog just like him. I can’t say I don’t wish the same thing. He’s pretty great.
You two wanted to practice soccer up at Charles Best. Lila, you have decided you want to sign up for soccer. I looked into it and registered you for a six week class class in November.
Tonight was our last night with Dareian and Ethan, so of course, we had to have our wine and cheese sauce night, as per tradition. Dareian told me that they’ve decided to wait until April to move. They didn't find a place that they love, it was starting to feel really stressful, and they just don’t feel like it’s the right time. I’m sad, but also proud of her for doing what her heart is telling her. She’ll make it here when the time is right.
