happy bday & retirement ben!
- Lila, you've really gotten into the Easter spirit. You've been wearing your bunny ears for a couple days now, and snacking on carrots.
- Today we celebrated Uncle Ben's retirement and 65th birthday. He and daddy went on a little outing downtown for the afternoon. They were both pretty excited about it. I was teasing them and called them Papa bear and baby bear. Those two are so similar.
- Lila, you carefully watched Jane and Katie get ready to go out. You're pretty fascinated by makeup, and they're really generous with sharing their makeup with you and showing you stuff. Lila, you put a little bit of sparkly eye shadow on yourself and felt pretty glamorous.
- We headed over to Auntie Georgia's house for dinner where Rick and Maria were already waiting for us. We ordered pizza from Pasta Polo. Oh my word, was it ever good. It was real Italian, brick oven pizza. I wondered how you guys would like it, but you LOVED it. The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were interesting and flavorful. The ten of us ate seven pizzas! I couldn't believe it.
- George, you went into the bedroom to watch baseball with Uncle Ben. Daddy joined you after a bit. You seem to really enjoy watching sports on TV. You said you were too sweaty and took your shirts off (you were wearing a "handsome" shirt over top of a swim shirt). You're so funny.
- Uncle Rick made Auntie Maria's mom's carrot cake recipe. They iced it with cream cheese icing and decorated it with mini eggs. It was heavenly. So good.
- As the evening progressed, Jane and Katie were on thieir phones, Lila and George were watching a movie, Uncle Ben laid down because his tummy was upset, Uncle Rick snoozed in a chair, Auntie Maria prepared her IG post, and daddy, Auntie Georgia and I played Bananagrams. It was pretty perfect.
