ice cream
Today was our last day in the Shuswap. We had to get everything packed up and be out the door by 11am. It was a scramble to say the least. Not an easy feat with 10 people and mountains of food and tons of kid stuff.
The smoke today was so thick and orange and suffocating. I’m glad it wasn’t like this all week. It was so dark we had to have the lights on.
We stopped for ice-cream on our way out of town. Unfortunately, I can’t eat ice-cream anymore because it bothers my tummy too much. But I enjoyed watching you guys digging in.
George, I can’t remember why you were so sad, but you had a moment and sat with your little face in your arms and cried. Katie saw you and went to sit with you. You’re so lucky to have her for a sister.
Jane, we were so excited to come home to you. You got your tablet while we were away, so we all gathered around for a full demonstration. It’s so cool! And I’m incredibly proud of you for working so hard to save up the money to buy it.
