mud bath
  • We arrived in the Shuswap yesterday evening.  As usual, we had planned to leave in the morning, then somehow the day got away on us and we weren't on the road until 2pm.  Crazy how that happens.  I don't understand how families can get going so early.
  • The "cabin" we're staying at is really nice.  I use the term cabin very loosely.  It's the lower level of a 5000 sq foot house.  And such a pretty view of Blind Bay.  There is a little bit of smoke, but not too bad.
  • Lila and George, you can't get enough of the hot tub out on the deck.  You're already begging for one at home.
  • Mario Kart seems to be the official indoor pastime.  Lila, I'm pretty surprised by how good you are at it.  You can kick my butt already...although, that's not saying much because I'm so terrible at video games.
  • Lila, grandma taught you how to play Aggravation this morning.  She's probably looking for a new opponent since she can't seem to win against anyone else!
  • We went to the beach in the afternoon.  The beach was okish, but right next to it, there was the most glorious mud pit I've ever seen.  Katie, I was surprised that you jumped in there with the kids.  You were having the most fun I've seen you have in a long time.  I couldn't stop laughing as I squished and sloshed and played in the mud with you guys.  I felt like a kid again.  I don't have photos of the end result because I was too muddy to hold my camera.  So fun!
  • Grandma wasn't quite as impressed with the mud as I was.  I tried real hard to get her in there, but it was a no go.  Daddy wouldn't either.  Sometimes I don't know how daddy and I get along so well.
  • George, you were still so dirty from the mud, I had to give you a full scrub down when we got back home.  And it turns out you were the lucky one because everyone else got duck itch from the lake.  Lila, you got it the worst of all.  Poor thing, you are covered from chin to ankle with spots.
  • Jack fell asleep in the hot tub.  So cute.
  • George and Lila, you love reading with grandma.  And grandma loves reading with you.  You snuggled and read for quite a long time before bed.  Lila, you especially like the "God books."
  • Jane, you texted me briefly.  Just long enough to let me know you're still alive and don't miss me. Lol.
