love at the park
- We took advantage of the nice weather today and spent lots of time outside. George and Lila, we went to the dollar store and got you butterfly nets. You spent the next two hours "fishing" in Lost Lake in Mundy Park. You amaze me with you ability to play outside with no toys (usually) and no direction at all. You laugh and fight, are together and apart, make up games, and have huge dramas playing out. Sometimes you're crazy loud and other moments you're silent and still. It's really lovely to watch
- Lila, you drew a portrait of Georgie today. It was spot on. You said he was yelling at you, so that's why you wrote Lila in his mouth. It made me laugh. Katie, you describe George as a "scrawny little twerp with big ears and a big mouth." It's pretty accurate. (He's also incredibly sweet and funny and adorable!)
- After dinner we went to Lions Park for a couple hours. Jane, you were really cute with the babies. They love you so much. There's a really cool water feature at that park with a water pump at the top, and a system for damming the water, then a multi-tiered sand box. You pumped and pumped and pumped the water and made "the biggest flood ever" for all the little ones there. You were a hero
- We tried to catch some butterflies, but there were none to be found
- I said I would buy you guys a treat, and the unanimous decision was chips! We all chose our favorite and went home and had a chip buffet. I was in my glory
- Katie, you decided to stay home by yourself. I think one of the downsides to living in a small space is that we rarely get to be by ourselves. I know you crave it sometimes. I'm glad you finally got some quiet time to hang out and enjoy your home without all the craziness that usually abounds
