chalk
  • George and Lila, you two are so good at entertaining yourselves no matter where we are. You two have spent more than your fair share of time in parking lots waiting for your sisters. Today was no exception. We waited for Katie for over half an hour, but you two just made yourself busy with chalk. I have a “mom kit” in the van at all times that includes a big box of chalk.

  • Lila, your outfit was really cute today. A little ballet outfit with your sparkly high tops. I’m glad you’ve still got your flair for fashion.

  • George, I get a real kick out of watching you interact with everyone at school. You’re so friendly, and I’ve noticed that the older kids all say hi to you as they pass…and you say hi back…and you know their names. Your social skills are a wonder.

  • To be honest, these days, I’m struggling big time with parenting. Feels like my life is full of a lot of struggle and very little reward. I know this is just a phase, but I’m feeling beaten down and tired. Daddy and I have been talking about what changes we can make to get our little family back on track.

  • Lila and George, we went for a walk around Lafarge Lake with auntie Georgia tonight. After we finished, I was talking to her and you two had gotten into the van and strapped yourselves into your seats. Lila, you opened your door and said to Auntie Georgia, “I don’t know if you heard me…but I like you….AND I LOVE YOU!” So so so sweet. You’ve come a long way.
