The Matsuda’s came over for lunch today. We had a sandwich buffet. It was perfect. Easy to prepare, everyone got to make something they liked, and quick to clean up. Lila, your sandwich was tomatoes and pickles. George, your sandwich was cucumbers and pickles. You were super delighted with your creations.
It was loud and busy and fun. You cousins really like each other. At one point the noise got to be a bit much, so all the parents scrounged around and found all their spare change and we sent you all off to the store to see what you could buy with all your riches. You did pretty good! A whole bunch of ice-cream bars, and a couple different kinds of pop.
After the Matsuda’s left, Auntie Becca, James and I went to Colours to get him some art supplies. I finally picked up my painting that I had taken there to be repaired. I was happy to have it back.
Jane, Donny came over in the afternoon to meet Auntie Becca and the kids. Auntie Becca was pretty funny with her questions. She quizzed him pretty hard and even got him to tell her his much hated middle name, and agree to her calling him Don. He passed the Auntie Becca test. She thinks he’s pretty great…especially when he helped you cook dinner and clean the kitchen.
Katie, you’re struggling with your math unit, and Auntie Becca sat and helped you with it. I have to say, I never thought I’d see the day when Auntie Becca knew how to do math better than me…but she certainly does! I’m totally lost when I comes to math these days. I swear, my brain is functioning at about 3% capacity now. I used to be so smart!
We watched a Jim Gaffigan special (Mr. Universe) on Netflix after the little ones were in bed. We laughed so hard. It was pretty great.
