weekend away

• Today was the day daddy and I have been looking forward to for a loooooong time.  We're going away for the weekend.
• We got a big dump of snow this morning.  George and Lila, you had a blast playing in the courtyard.  You found a whole bunch of big icicles on the foundation.  You thought you had won the lottery!
• Grandma Esther was scheduled to arrive on the bus around noon, but the bus was a couple hours late due to the snow and several accidents on the highway.  She finally arrived, and we skipped town as soon as we possible could.  
• We arrived, got our fluffy robes on, and settled in for a quiet, kidless, uninterrupted evening of doing whatever the heck we wanted to.  We got room service and watched our show and talked and snuggled.  It was pretty great.
