4 in the garage
  • Jane, daddy drives you and Katie to school early on Thursdays, but this morning you were busy making smoothies for everyone, and missed your ride.  I felt somewhat bad for you because you were doing something nice and it was pouring rain, so I decided to trade you a ride for an extra chore tonight.  A few days ago, I noticed a pot of soup out on the deck (our second fridge) that had been forgotten out there for a while.  I joked with daddy that the next person who needed an extra job was going to have to empty it and wash it.  Well...you were the lucky winner.  OMG.  So gross.  You looked around for a clip to plug your nose, but couldn't find one, so decided on toilet paper.  You looked hilarious.  Thanks for being a good sport about it.  Isn't this the reason I have kids?  To make them to the gross stuff I don't want to do?
  • George, you and I had a relaxing day.  I listened to the Love Love Love Podcast with Yan Palmer while I did my work.  You played with your guys.  We had a nap together this afternoon because you got up at 4:30 and came over to sleep with me, but Lila was already in our bed with us, so it was pretty cosy and neither you nor I fell asleep again after you joined us.  I'm too old to live on that little sleep.
  • It's a rainy gray day today and quite chilly.  It was a good day for soup.  I made it this morning and let it simmer all day.  Our house smelled so good when we returned from school pick up and the soup was warm and comforting on such a miserable day.
  • I asked for three minutes for photos today after school.  You're all usually willing to give me time if I set a short limit and stick to it.  You're also a lot more obliging if I don't make you put down your books.  Lol.
  • George, the socks you were wearing today were given to you when you were born and you've been wearing them all four years of your life.  I don't know how they still fit you, but they do, and you really like them.
  • I took a "scroll" down memory lane tonight and watched videos of the months shortly after George was born.  You guys were adorable.  Katie, your voice was still so soft and squeaky.  Jane, you were sweet and silly.  Lila, you were still just a baby yourself.  George, you were just a little chubby lump of cuteness.  There was so much love.  I cried and cried.  You guys are the best.
