happy 43rd!

happy 43rd!
  • Katie, you had an early morning game out in Richmond. And ironically, you were playing your old team. It seemed pretty silly for both of us to go all the way out to Richmond to play each other, but it was still fun. You guys are all friends, so the competition was fierce but friendly. It was great for me too because I got to hang out with the parents from your old team.

  • We finally celebrated daddy’s birthday today. He wanted eggs benedict for breakfast (He’s such a copy cat!). And for his birthday cake he wanted poundcake with strawberries and whipped cream.

  • Lila, you wanted to help with the cake, so I gave you the job of slicing the strawberries. Katie, you cored the strawberries with a straw, and Lila, you quartered them. It was you first time using a “big knife” and you were so careful and extremely proud of your work.

  • Everyone gave daddy their gifts. Jane, you asked me why I wasn’t giving him anything, and I said that I had already given it to him. You looked confused and started to ask what it was…then the light bulb went on and you clued in, and both you and Katie gagged and pretended to be totally and completely grossed out. Daddy and I just laughed and laughed. You guys are so cute.

  • Jane, you got out your binder from last year and cleaned it out in preparation for tomorrow. You basically just through every single thing in the recycling. Ha. You’re so sentimental.
