ariana grande
I went out this morning to help my friend Sandra take some extended family pics. I was the official reflector holder. It was really nice to be out studying the light and thinking about posing. I think it’s time for me to pick up my camera again. I’m starting to feel inspired and curious.
Katie, today was the day of the Ariana Grande concert. Auntie Kim and Felicity came over in the late afternoon, had dinner, then we headed downtown for the big night.
George, Auntie Kim brought a little hockey stick for you that used to be Zach’s. It was love at first sight. I know it’s going to be your go-to toy for a while now.
Lila, you made us all laugh. You never talk to anybody, but tonight we were all sitting around the kitchen table, and you leaned into Auntie Kim and told her to pull her pants up. What???? It was so unexpected and funny.
Katie, you and Felicity were so silly at the Skytrain Station. I am a little out of practice with my camera and couldn’t keep up with your antics. You were making me laugh though.
Auntie Kim and I walked you to Rogers Arena, watched you walk through the doors, then walked to Gastown to hang out. Unfortunately, I was having some tummy troubles, so instead of drinking wine and eating yummy appetizers, we ended up sitting on a patio under a heater while I drank mint tea to soothe my crazy stomach. Haha. I love my friend who was more than happy to sit with my while I settled things down.
After I felt better, we walked along the water and enjoyed a beautiful Vancouver evening. As I looked at the beauty of the city and the water and the mountains, I was reminded once again how lucky we are to live in such an amazing place. And I felt a tiny bit better about spending a trillion dollars on our new place.
We took the Skytrain back to Rogers and looked for a place to sit and relax, but the only thing we could find was Fresh Slice. Ha! We both spent a whopping $2.25 and sat and chatted until we got a text that the concert had ended.
Katie, you two were so cute when you came out. You excitedly told us about every single little thing. You had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Katie, my favorite quote from you was, “She’s so pretty. I could feel her beauty.”
We waited until the crowds died down, then headed home on the Skytrain. We arrived back home around 12:30, tired and happy. I’m so glad you got to have an awesome night and make memories with Felicity, and I got to spend an evening with my BFF. We don't get to see each other nearly enough.
