panic! at the disco
  • Today was the big day!  The Panic! at the Disco concert with Felicity.  Auntie Kim and Felicity came over for dinner before we headed downtown.  Jane, you made bacon wrapped meat balls and mashed potatoes.  Really good.  Although, probably anything wrapped in bacon would get a big thumbs up from me.
  • George, you were excited to see auntie Kim and decided to dress up.  You put on skinny jeans, a "handsome shirt" and your bow tie.  I loved that the corner of your shirt was tucked into your little undies.  You're so adorable.  Lila, you got in on the photo action and you two were too cute together.
  • Jane, you got dressed up so fancy for the concert.  I was surprised and impressed with how grown up and stylish you looked.  You said it was a MUST to get dressed up for this concert because you love them so much.
  • Katie, when we were in the elevator, you reached over and blended Jane's makeup for her.  I remember reading a stupid article many years ago about Paris Hilton's makeup and how it was never blended well, and the conclusion was that she didn't have very good friends because a true friend would blend her makeup for her.  Why I remember this article...or even read it in the first place, I have no idea, but I was relieved to see what I interpreted as a sign of true sisterly love.
  • We drove downtown.  We decided the best plan of action would be for auntie Kim to drive and I would navigate.  Neither of us is fantastic with directions, but we did alright and managed to get parking nearby Rogers Arena with no incidents.  That's a win!
  • We dropped you three off at your gate and wished you luck.  You were giggly and excited and nervous.  We put Felicity in charge of the tickets.  She seemed like the one least likely to lose them.
  • Auntie Kim and I got to tour the underbelly of the city.  I took a wrong turn somewhere and we ended up walking the weirdest route.  I finally got us back to civilization and we found a cute patio and sat down to relax and have a nibble and chit chat.  We sat there for quite a long time and enjoyed the summer evening.  Sometimes I wonder how we have so much to talk about.  We speak regularly on the phone and text all the time.  How do we still have three or four hours worth of things to talk about?
  • Jane, while we were eating, you texted to tell me that your tickets had been upgraded.  I had purchased tickets up in the family zone so you guys wouldn't have to deal with any obnoxious drunk people.  A security guard approached you guys and asked if you wanted better tickets.  Whaaaaaaaat??????  For real?  You got move down to the lower level near the stage.  I was so happy for you!  What a dream.
  • On our way back to Rogers, we got coffee and sat under a big digital rainbow canopy and chatted some more.
  • You girls were so happy when you came out of the arena.  It was adorable.  Of course, I asked a million questions about everything and you excitedly answered them all and showed me videos you had taken.  It sounded like a fantastic concert and an incredible show.  I'm so happy for you.
  • When we arrived home, I politely requested some garage portraits.  We haven't done those for a while.  It was so fun.   We reenacted a photo we took when you were tiny with each of you sucking your thumb/fingers.  You girls are so cute.
