new day, new month

new day, new month
  • Halloween Hangover is a real thing.  Everyone was so tired and grouchy this morning.  Too much excitement, too much sugar, not enough sleep.  We had a slow morning and it was painful trying to get everyone out the door.
  • Lila, we arrived quite early at your school.  You spread your blankies out on the porch of your classroom and got right to business coloring.  You always pack a coloring book or paper and crayons or markers.
  • George, you and I had a nice quiet day.  You had a nap in the afternoon and I took great pleasure in the silence around me.  I listened to Podcasts for a lot of the day.  It's a luxury for me to be able to listen to things that I'm interested in and fill my brain with ideas that are outside of my dad to day world.
  • George, you were extremely upset when I woke you up to get Lila, even though you had already been sleeping for two hours.  You cried all the way to the school, all the way down the stairs, and as we waited for her.  You perked up when you saw her though, so that was nice to see.
  • We played at the playground for a long time.  I think the weather is supposed to change and get quite cold, so we're enjoying the sunshine while we can.
  • Katie, you and I went grocery shopping this evening. After Costco, we headed to the mall for our appointment at the Apple Store.  The camera on your iPod isn't working.  We waited outside of the store for a few minutes until they were ready for us.  You sat right beside me and leaned into me.  I put my arm around you and we snuggled in the middle of the mall for a nice long time.  I love that you still do that.  I also love that you let me take a selfie while we sat there.  Even though you're taller than me now, you're still my baby.  Actually, even though we have little ones, you've still been my baby the longest.  You were my baby for eight years.  George still has four more years to go before he'll pass you.  You held that title for a long time little Bean!
