coffee date
- I had a coffee date with Auntie Kim this morning. We had wanted to get our families together this weekend, but we just couldn't make it work, so the two of us decided to meet. Lila, I asked if you wanted to come with me, and you were quite honored. I think you're missing me. School is still pretty tough for you, so any extra one on one time we get together is really good.
- We went to Starbucks in Langley. The funny thing is that we've met there a few times before, yet neither of us can ever remember where it is. We have to ask Uncle Jer every time. So silly.
- I think we were there for about two hours. I can't get enough of Auntie Kim. I love talking to her. It's so comforting to be with someone who knows me so well, yet still likes me. I can tell her anything and I know she won't judge me or think poorly of me. I talk about everything with her. I hope as you guys get older, you'll have a friend (or friends) like that. They're important.
- Lila, you sat and drew pretty much the entire time. You also brought a balloon that you blew so big I was sure it would pop and scare everyone to death, but it didn't.
- Lila, you made a replica of your room in a shoebox last night...except it looks nothing like your room. There is a gas station in it. I was confused about what you were constructing with pipe cleaners, but then you explained and it made perfect sense. You loved this little school project. Last night daddy and I were being pretty silly, and set Georgie's little hockey guys and superheroes in your room doing all kinds of things. We took pictures because we're just mature like that. We thought better of it after we finished, because we knew you would be upset. I was telling auntie Kim about it and showed her the pictures. Then you saw them. The look on your face was priceless. 95% angry, 5% amused.
- The weather was terrible today. Rainy and windy and cold. A perfect day to stay inside and enjoy the fireplace.
- Daddy and I were going to go out and do some shopping for winter tires, but because of the weather I decided to phone around instead. I called a bunch of places and no one was helpful at all. Some told me to go online, some told me to come in. They all seemed rushed and a little annoyed that I had called. Only one place was friendly and asked me questions about what I was looking for and made suggestions about what I could do. Guess where I bought tires? Customer service goes a long way. I didn't even bother to shop around and compare prices with the tires they suggested. Daddy did some research on the quality of them, and he was happy, so we ordered them.
