  • Jane,  you had a slow morning, so I ended up taking Katie to school, then came back to get you and Lila and George.  Lila had parent reading, so we went into her classroom.  She chose a book, then ran over to me...and then deked me out and ran over to you.  Lila wanted to read with you.  I was sad and overjoyed all at the same time.  I love watching you guys love each other.  It brings me immense amounts of joy.  The photo of you reading makes me think of a photo I took five years ago.  I'm going to try to find it and post it.  Lila has always loved reading with you.
  • Lila, you had a field trip to Omega Gymnastics.  This is the gym Katie used to go to.  It still smells the same.  Yikes.  You were ultra excited, but when you came out, you were pretty disappointed.  You said it was gymnastics for babies.  You wanted to climb all the way to the ceiling, but they made you stop at the tape line on the rope.  And you wanted to go on the high bar, but they only let you on the low bar.  You were disgusted and annoyed.  You're not used to someone limiting you.  I'm happy about that...but maybe I should have set you up for more realistic expectations of the world?  Nah...I want to you do everything you think you can do, even if you make mistakes.
  • George, you were pretty sad you couldn't go on the gym floor with the class.  You watched for a while, then we went outside for a walk.  The sky was so dark and stormy, yet the sun was shining.  It was beautiful.
  • George, after the field trip, we went to get our winter tires on.  There were donuts, and I was hesitant to offer you one because you've been quite offended by that in the past, but today, you ate it with great enthusiasm and relish.  I'm so impressed with Westwood Tire.  They were so helpful and friendly through the whole process of buying new tires.  I would recommend them to anyone.  The shop looks a little dodgy, but the people were great.  We're happy with our tires and the service.
  • Lila, you're always full of surprises.  You were wearing a scarf on your head and you looked like a sweet little peasant girl.
  • Katie, you love my bed.  You love to lay in it and watch your shows or go on you iPod.  I'm more than happy to let you snuggle and have some time to yourself.  I like your company as I work at the computer.   We're good buddies.
