he's mine
  • George, it was like someone gave you a naughty pill this morning.  You were something else today.  I'm not feeling well, so I decided to stay in bed and rest as long as I could in the morning.  Katie and Jane made breakfast and their lunches.  Jane came in to visit with me and I asked her how you were doing.  She said that she hadn't seen you and you were still sleeping (I knew you weren't).  OH NO!!!!   A quiet toddler is not a good thing.  She found you in her room.  You had gotten her acrylic paints out of her closet and were busy painting her socks in her drawer, the carpet in front of the closet and one of her uncompleted paintings. What a mess.  Not exactly what I wanted to do first thing this morning.
  • Daddy's music class did their flash mob this morning.  He's been doing them for several years now and we've never missed one.  We always "surprise" him...but I'm pretty sure he's caught on by now and kind of expects us to be there.  Lila, it looks like this photo has become a tradition.  As soon as you see daddy, you run over to him and hug his leg like you're claiming your territory
  • George, your favorite part of going to see daddy's music performance is going into the music room after to play the drums.  You just love it.  When it was time to go, you were NOT pleased.  I ended up holding you under one arm while you kicked and screamed and cried your way through the entire school and into the van.  I was a sweaty, stressed out mess by the time we finally left
  • Lila, as I finished putting Georgie down for his nap, you started calling me from my bedroom.  You asked me to grab my camera and take some photos, and then did a series of poses.  You're adorable.  Your outfit today is killer.  Nice job picking it out
  • It's was pouring rain all day today, but magically, as we pulled into Jane's school to pick her up, it stopped.  George and Lila, you begged to play outside, and of course I agreed.  We were in the front of the school for all of ten seconds before everything fell apart.  George, you fell in a pile of mud and were covered from your butt to your shoes.  Lila, you tripped and fell and skinned your knee.  Both of you were howling and wanted bandaids.  Luckily the ladies at the office are ever prepared and gave me a few.  As usual, the bandaids cured everything and you were back to your cute little smiling selves within a few minutes.
  • I'm as grouchy as a person can be today.  I crabbed and growled at everyone at dinner (by the way, thanks for making dinner Jane Jane!)  I've locked myself in my bedroom for the evening to try to regain my composure.  I'm not feeling well.  My body hurts.  My head hurts.  My eyes and throat hurt.  I'm also feeling sad.  The son of a friend from 100 Mile died yesterday.  He was only 20.  My heart hurts for them
  • Today is grandma and grandpa's 48th anniversary.  Wow!  That's quite a long time
