pure joy
- Lila, you had some epic bedhead this morning. You stormed out of your room and went and laid down at the front door to read
- Jane, when I got up at 6:45, you were reading to George. There was a huge stack of books beside you. You had been reading to him since 6:00
- Lila, I found a sweater that used to be Katie's. It was her signature look. As soon as you put it on, you were fully inspired to dress "just wike Kay-Beanie." You were pretty proud of your matching outfits. It's funny to see you dressed like Katie (especially since your outfits are usually so interesting.) It takes me back in time
- Katie, you had a choir performance on Granville Island this morning. You went with your school group on the bus and we joined you there. Lila was so happy to see you. She ran over to you and leapt into your arms. George was right behind her and hugged your legs
- It was a beautiful day on Granville Island. The sun was shining, the breeze was warm, the sky was blue. I love going somewhere outside of my normal routine. It's completely refreshing and invigorating. I spotted an awesome rusted wall and convinced you guys to take some pictures in front of it. All it cost me was a promise to listen to the Frozen Soundtrack on the way home. That's fine with me...I'm super good at tuning it out :)
- We went on the AquaBus tour. George, you were especially excited to go on a boat. The views were pretty and we even got to see a seal
- Auntie Georgia and her sister Janice met us on Granville Island. We had some lunch and a little visit. It was so great to get to know Janice a little
- George, you hurt yourself a lot today. I was walking ahead of you with my camera hanging crosswise around my body. The lens was facing to the back. I stopped walking and you didn't realize, and ran really hard into the lens hood. It cut your little forehead open. Then, on the AquaBus, you somehow tumbled off the seat and landed on your head. Later, after we got home, Lila pushed you off my bed and you scraped your entire jaw line on a crate I had beside my bed. You look pretty beat up
- Lila, you were chasing pigeons. You saw a group of birds and ran over to them pretty fast. Normally, they scatter and fly away, but for some reason one of them didn't move, and you ended up stepping on it's tail and a whole bunch of feathers came out as it escaped your foot and flew away. You were so shocked...and then amazed...and then you giggled about it. You carefully gathered the feathers and wrapped them in a kleenex to bring home. It makes me cringe when you touch feathers. I'm always worried you'll get some weird parasite or something
- Jane, you taught me how to play Exploding Kittens today. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I'm going to challenge you to a tournament this weekend
- Jane, I taught you how to do a simple accompaniment to a song tonight. I chose When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars. It's simple and you like it. You did pretty good. Next, I'm going to teach you how to add some rhythm to the accompaniment. You're interested in singing, and being able to play music for yourself as you sing is a valuable skill
- Katie, you taught Lila how to empty the dishwasher tonight. You were so patient and kind with her. She was completely distracted and not interested. I guess we'll teach her in baby steps
- I love to lay in front of the fire place with my feet up on the mantle. I was resting there when Lila, you decided to use me as a lounger. We stayed there for quite some time in totally comfort and relaxation. Jane Jane took the photos of us
