soaking in the last rays of the day
  • Uncle Dan and Dareian left early this morning to head back to Calgary.  I'm going to miss them.  It's so fun to have them here
  • George, you seem to have started off a family flu.  You threw up on our way home from Burnaby Mountain last night (all over your car seat....yuck!!!)  Lila starting puking during the night, and Jane started this morning.  Seems somewhat likely the rest of us are going to get it.  Poor Uncle Danny....we started his visit with lice, and ended it with puke.  I asked Dareian if she still wanted to have kids after spending the weekend with us.  :)
  • George, you're always really sad when you're sick.  You spent a lot of time snuggling with me and flopping around on the little bed I made for you on the floor of the living room.
  • Lila, you're usually quite accepting of your fate when you're sick.  You just laid quietly on the couch and watched Netflix
  • Jane, you're an old pro with puking.  You're my pukiest kid (Wow!  What an honor!!!)  And now that you're 14, you just take care of business and don't really even bother us about it
  • There always comes a time when you're not quite ready to eat or drink, but you're begging for something.  My solution is to offer you a half a shot glass of water.  You love the "fancy cup" and it always satisfies you for a bit
  • After dinner I opened up the front door to let in some fresh air and allow the sun to shine in.  There was the most delightful warm breeze blowing.  Lila and I sat on the door step for a long while, enjoying the warm air and the last of the evening sun (thanks for the photos Katie!)
  • By the end of the day, Lila, you seemed mostly all better.  George, you were well on your way to recovery.  Jane, you were still quite sick.  My poor babies.  I always feel so bad for you when you're not feeling well
