sleepy head
  • The morning sun shines into our kitchen for just a few weeks a year. It always surprises me when it appears. It probably helps that the time change ensures we are all awake for the sunrise.

  • Katie, you still looked so sleepy as you stumbled through the kitchen getting your breakfast. You’re adorable.

  • Lila, you stayed home from school today because you have a cold. I think this may have been one of the first days since George was born where it’s just been the two of us. It was so great. We hung out and did crafts and colored. Then I took you to the dentist with me for my root canal. Wow. It wasn’t my favorite thing I’ve ever done…and they’re only half done. I go back next week so they can finish it up.

  • Lila, you requested McDonald’s for lunch, and I couldn’t say no. My mouth wasn’t quite ready for lunch, but you loved your chicken and fries. You chit chatted the entire time. I loved being able to give you my full attention.

  • I got rid of three more bags of stuff today. Honestly, it doesn’t even seem like I’ve gotten rid of anything. I suppose the closets have a little more room, but I’m nowhere close to being finished. Next up…the linen closet.

  • Jane, you made Italian sausage and potato soup with spinach for dinner. It was so good. Thank you for all the delicious dishes you make for us!
