poetry
  • Woah.  Rough night last night.  Lila, you came and woke me up at midnight.  Your ear was hurting.  And wouldn't you know it, we were totally out of children's Tylenol.  You tossed and turned and cried all night.  You were so uncomfortable, and there wasn't much I could do for you.  Jane, you had a rough night too, so you crawled into bed with me and Lila in the wee hours.  Lila wasn't pleased, but I liked that you were there.  We ran across to Save On as soon as it opened at 7:00 and got some medicine.
  • Lila, you slept all day.  I made you a little beddy in front of the fire and you snuggled up with my blanket and my pillow and snoozed away.  You must have been feeling quite unwell because its VERY rare for you to sleep like that.  You even rejected food in favor of sleep.
  • George, you came to me midmorning and told me, "I have so much snose (snot) and I don't weawwy feew weawwy weww."  Poor little dude.
  • Jane, you called me from school and asked me to pick you up before lunch.  You weren't feeling well either.
  • All four of us snuggled into our beds after lunch and slept for two and a half hours.  It was just what the doctor ordered.
  • Katie, you're excitedly preparing for your friend from Quebec who arrives on Friday.  We've got a nice list of activities for this coming weekend.  Next week will be spent with the whole group, and it's going to be BUSY!!!  Looks like a lot of fun, and thankfully, it looks like the weather is going to improve dramatically for you guys.
  • The rain is starting to get to me.  So much rain.
  • Katie, you've started writing poetry.  Prior to a couple months ago, I had no idea you were even interested in writing.  I love it!

Catch my soul
With all your heart,
Even with all my holes,
I can’t let it fall apart

Broken colours,
Broken heart,
I’ve tasted the flavour,
Not my favourite part

Give me a taste
Then lean back,
For I hate
Not being loved back
