22 years (+ a day)
Daddy and I had a very nice day today. We had breakfast at the Boathouse. I got the eggs benedict trio, which included one with ham, one with crab, and one with smoked salmon. Oh my. I’m a huge fan of eggs benedict, so this was heavenly for me.
We went for a walk around New West and the Quay. I had one more Christmas present to get (for Keegan) and found something super exciting, Something I LOVED when I was 11. I can’t wait to give it to her.
Daddy and I both forgot to bring deodorant. We had to make an emergency trip to buy some so we could stand to be in each others company.
My number one dream for this weekend away was to have a lot of showers. I had the most delicious, hot, long shower this morning. It felt so good. And nobody knocked on the door or busted in or asked me for anything.
We ordered room service again tonight. It’s the small things in life that make it worth living. The pleasure of sitting in bed, wrapped in a cozy robe, having a delicious dinner delivered to you, is immense. Y’all have to try it out one day.
After dinner, we were so relaxed and happy. Daddy was watching a hockey game and I was laying with my head on his chest playing a silly game on my phone. As I laid there, I stopped and checked in with myself. I had never in my entire life felt so peaceful, content and happy and loved and loving. It was really beautiful. Daddy and I have worked hard to get here and have gone through so many things together. We’ve both done a lot of changing and growing. I’m proud of us.
