happy mothers day!
  • As per our mother's day tradition, we did family photos.  0 out of 6 people were into it today.  I was probably the most reluctant one of all, but daddy convinced me to do it, and he was right.  I know I'll treasure these.  And I think you guys will too.  Maybe not tomorrow, but in 30 years?  Lol.
  • We're all really tired and worn out from the last few weeks.  Jane, you were out until 4am last night...and because you needed a driver, daddy was also out until 4am.
  • George, you came and woke me up at 6:00 this morning.  I was surprised to see you because I knew daddy had locked the door so I could sleep in. Turns out you know how to pick locks.
  • Lila, when I got up, you presented me with your gifts you made at school.  You were so excited.  You made me a picture frame with the cutest little picture inside.  You also swept the kitchen floor for me, and asked me for a rag so you could wash it.  You're so cute.  Special dates are really important to you and you do everything you can do to make the day great.
  • Daddy made Eggs Benedict and hash browns for breakfast.  It was a super sacrifice since he was up so late last night.  It was delicious!
  • Jane and Katie, you missed brunch.  We thought it was for the best (for all involved) to let you sleep.  Jane, you broke your sleep in record.  Previously it was 9:30, and today you didn't wake until 11:30.  Amazing!
  • Katie, I registered with the Shawn Mendes tour, and actually got the email to tell me I qualified for the pre-sale.  Oddly enough, the tickets went on sale at 10am on Mother's day.  What an odd time.  I had to interrupt my brunch to go get tickets.  I managed to get four, so you, Jane, Issy and Val are going to go together.  The crazy thing is that the concert isn't until June 2019.  I hope you still like him by then!
  • We went to that little lane that runs along the top of the Riverview grounds.  It's close to home and pretty...and shady, which was important because it's quite warm today.  We all wore black because that was the general mood around our house.  But we all pulled it together and made it happen.
  • Lila, of course you couldn't bring yourself to wear all black.  You had to add a little flair in your headband and necklace.
