egg hunt
  • Happy Easter!
  • The weather forecast wasn't looking so good for today, so last night daddy hid all of the eggs you dyed around the living room.  Traditionally, we do an egg hunt out in the courtyard, but we didn't think we'd be able to this year due to the rain.
  • When I woke up, it wasn't raining yet, so I got Jane to sneak down there and hide all the little packets of treats Katie and I made last night.  George and Lila, you were overjoyed when you discovered that the Easter bunny had indeed come to our house.  You ran around like little crazies finding all the treats.
  • Then we came upstairs and found all the eggs in the living room.  When we were finished that, Jane, you asked me if you could do your scavenger hunt.  What????  I didn't make a scavenger hunt for you this year because I thought you and Katie would be too cool for one.  I had no idea you were counting on it...I thought you'd be relieved that I did make you do one.  Hahaha.  So, I shooed you all into our bedroom and got busy making a hunt for you.  I did pretty good with such short notice and under great amounts of pressure.  I was all kinds of pleased that you enjoy and expect your Easter Scavenger hunt.
  • Jane, you played the one and only April Fools prank.  You ate a small Cadbury Chocolate egg, saved the wrapper ever so carefully, then took it and wrapped a cherry tomato with it.  You offered it to George while Lila was watching and they started to fight over it.  Then George unwrapped it and saw the tomato.  He didn't see the humor in it.  Lila just glared at you.  We all died laughing.  So funny.
  • We spent the rest of the day relaxing and hanging out together.  Daddy and I played a lot of Bananagrams, and had a nice nap.  I talked to Uncle Danny, Auntie Becca and Grandma on the phone.
  • This spring break has gone by all too quickly.  I can't believe we only have one more day until we're back to the grind.
