happy easter!
- Jane and Katie, you helped me set up the Easter egg hunt this morning. I used to do the exact same thing when you were little. A Happy Easter message in chalk, and chocolates hidden around the top level of the courtyard. It was fun to share in the excitement and anticipation with you
- Our eggs are glittery and wonderful. More than half of them are broken, but that just makes them all the more beautiful to me. You guys had a great time making them and are super proud of your handiwork
- Auntie Georgia and Uncle Ben came over to watch the egg hunt and celebrate National Eggs Benedict Day with us. George and Lila, you were so delighted with the egg hunt. You couldn't believe your good luck. The Easter Bunny was super generous with you
- Daddy made eggs benedict for us. That's his specialty...except for the hollandaise. For some reason, he just can't do that, so Jane, you always step in and make it for us. Our brunch was delicious. I enjoyed our classy napkins :)
- Lila, after dinner we went outside to play. You climbed the cherry blossom tree in the front of our building. You were having the best time...until you spotted an ant. Then you screamed so loud and so long that our neighbors all rushed out because they thought someone was dying. You were really honestly terrified. We sat on the steps for a few minutes and I hugged you and we talked about bugs and that they belong outside and when we're outside, we're in their home, so we need to respect them and be kind to them. After a while you seemed to accept that and understand that they're not trying to hurt you and we can peacefully co-exist
- George and Lila, I love going outside with you. You're always so exuberant and enthusiastic. You breath new life into me
- The cherry blossoms are in full bloom right now. The tree at the front of our building is spectacular. Spring is here. Finally!
