i can't believe katie won the stanley cup
  • Katie, you asked me if I would teach you how to take photos.  I had lent my old camera to my friend, so I got it back tonight so we can begin your lessons.  I told you I'd only get the camera for you if you would learn how to use it to it's full potential.  You agreed.  Looking forward to seeing you learn and grow.
  • Lila, you wanted to be pink from head to toe today.  You did a good job.  Glad to see you've still got your flair for fashion.
  • George, you fell asleep on the drive home from school.  I decided to let you sleep, so Lila and I hung out in the van.  She played quietly in the back seat and I caught up on social media while you snoozed.
  • Katie you had soccer evaluations tonight.  I made two dinners for you and let you decide what you wanted.  You chose black bean soup for dinner before the evaluations and chicken caesar salad for after.
  • George and Lila, when you watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles you wear your backpacks as turtle shells.  It's pretty silly but oh so cute.
  • George, I love your ingenuity in creating a weapon holder.
  • Katie, you got to bring home your team's trophy from the Surrey Mayors Cup.  When we walked in the door, the babies were in bed, but when George spotted a glimpse of that trophy, he popped out of bed and exclaimed "What?????  You won the Stanley Cup?????"  He was so genuinely happy for you.  When I tucked him in, he told me with awed reverence "I just can't believe Katie won the Stanley Cup."  You're his new hero.
  • Jane, a friend at school said this to you today, "When you're silent you have a certain grace to you, but when you start talking, you're playful and childlike...but not in a bad way."  What?  So poetic.  And so true.  I'm in love with that description of you.
