two in the tulips
- Katie, you and Rose and your group went on an ecological tour of Stanley Park today. It was another beautiful day. I'm so relieved the weather turned just in time for Rose's visit. All your activities are outdoors and it would have been rather miserable if the rain hadn't stopped.
- Lila, over the last couple weeks I've been feeling that I'm doing more harm than good by coming into your class with you in the mornings and again in the afternoon. You've been getting more and more clingy and are having a harder and harder time each time we're separated. I talked to your teacher yesterday and told her we were going to go cold turkey, and she was super supportive. You and I talked about it a couple times last night, then the moment of truth came this morning. It did not go well. You refused to go into your class and were clinging to me and crying. One of the moms went and told your teacher what was going on outside. Your teacher took your class to the gym and then came back for you. As I left you, you were on the sidewalk screaming and crying and reaching out for me while your teacher held you back. It was heartbreaking.
- Lila, you drew a picture of our visit to the waterfall on the weekend in your little journal. You told me with an excited, shy little smile that you had drawn a picture of Rose with our family. You're adorable. You may not outwardly show your affection for many people, but it usually comes out in a drawing or card that you quietly create on your own.
- George, you and I met Bev in Mundy park this morning. We had a nice stroll around and you played on that big tree for a while. We also found a pile of pavers you were pretty excited about. You brought your little diggers with you but they were no match.
- Lila, I picked you up from school. You were happy as anything. I asked you how your day was, and you said, "I don't wemembew." That's your way of saying you couldn't be bothered to answer a question. I'm assuming that meant your day was just fine. Phew.
- Katie, I picked you and Rose and Annika and her twin up from school and brought everyone back to our place. Daveida, Cynthia and her twin joined us for an early snack/dinner and then we headed out to the Tulip Festival in Abbotsford.
- We met my friends Rea, Kim, Ross and Camille. Camille is such a little doll. So incredibly cute. Kim brought a bubble machine and it was magical. Kim is having another little one on Tuesday. Can't wait to have another baby at our camera club meetings!!!
- Katie, you and your friends had so much fun. I was a little nervous about bringing a van load of teenagers because I thought it might not be cool enough, but wow, you all had a great time. The flowers were beautiful, the light was spectacular, and the evening air was warm on our skin. Pretty perfect.
- I took waaaaaaay too many photos, but I just couldn't stop. Beauty was everywhere.
