audrey
George, you came and snuggled with me first thing this morning and while you were chatting, you said “kindergarten” perfectly. You can say your “r” sound now. What? How did this happen overnight?
Katie, you had your second run in PE this morning. Didn’t get lost this time, so that was a big win :)
Lila, today was yellow day at school. You don’t have any yellow clothes, so you borrowed one of Jane’s crop tops, which was the perfect length for you. You were pretty proud to be wearing a “teenagew giwl” shirt.
Lila, we volunteered to bring the yellow snack today. We decided on bananas. I came to your class at recess to deliver them, then I hung out with you and George on the tire playground. You were both so happy to see me.
George, you’re getting tired. These full days of kindergarten are long for a little guy. When you saw me on the playground and came over for a nice long snuggle and told me you wish you could come home with me. I said you could, but we’d have to have a nap. You quickly decided you’d stay at school.
Kim texted and asked if I’d like to meet them for pho. That’s a hard offer to refuse…two cute kids, an awesome friend and yummy food. I can’t get over how adorable Audrey is. Those big eyes, and chubby cheeks and sweet little mouth.
Katie, you had another appointment with the eye doctor to try to get your contacts fitted. The babies and I dropped you off and went into the mall so you could do your thing in peace. We were there for an hour and a half before you called for us to come and get you. You were successful this time! Yay!!! You got your contacts in and removed them. This will be so much better for you in soccer.
George and Lila, while Katie was at the eye doctor, we wandered around the mall and went up and down the escalators a million times, studied the rings in the jewelry shop, smelled every single candle at Bed, Bath and Beyond, and finally came upon a popup event for girls aged 9-16. There wasn’t anyone there, so they invited us in. You made bracelets and painted rocks and took butterfly photos. It was the perfect thing for us.
Jane, you worked from 6-10 this evening. It’s so weird to be driving you to work after dinner and be in bed before you come back home. You said you really like these late shifts because they’re quiet and there aren’t many customers around the store, so you get to work in peace.
