6!
  • Lila!  Today was your 6th birthday.  Wow.  Six years old already.  You came and crawled into bed with me at 3am and asked if it was your bday yet.  I said no...cause technically it wasn't.  You were born at 6:20 in the morning.  Thank goodness you fell back asleep.
  • Your birthday request for breakfast was Ichibans, so I cooked up a big pot of noodles.  You loved it.  After breakfast you opened the presents from grandma and Auntie Shari.  We decided to space out the gifts throughout the day so you had a chance to completely enjoy each one as you opened it.
  • Lila, today was also the day of your appointment with the orthopedic surgeon.  You got a lovely pink cast which delighted you.  We got you a fiberglass cast to you don't need to worry about getting it wet.
  • For your birthday lunch, you wanted McDonald's.  After your appointment we went there and had a leisurely, loungey lunch.  George, you were so silly, laying on your chair with your feet up, nibbling on your food.
  • After lunch, you wanted to go to a park and play, but the doctor had requested you rest and elevate your arm for the rest of the day.  So, instead, we went to Jane's school (because we had to go there and pick her up anyway) and George scootered around the field as you and I walked and picked flowers.
  • By some miracle, everyone in your life bought flamingo items.  You were in flamingo heaven.  There were pants, shirts, cards, stuffies, boxes, lights, decorations, balloons, plates, napkins, and pens.  So cute, and it wasn't even planned!
  • George, after school we drove Jane to her group, and passed by the offices of a new development in Port Moody called George.  So, of course, we stopped and took a couple cute pics of you.
  • Annika, Auntie Georgia and Uncle Ben came for your birthday dinner which was spaghetti.  I loved your food choices today.  So simple and easy for me!  You chose a white cake with strawberries.  I made daddy's favorite pound cake.  You iced it with whipped cream and decorated it with strawberries.  Auntie Georgia cut a huge bowl of strawberries to put on top of each slice of cake.  It was delicious.
  • Lila, I'm so happy you are the baby we got.  We're so lucky!  You certainly keep us on our toes, but you are a great delight.  I love you little one.
