pierced ears!

pierced ears!
  • We did a lot of stuff today! It was a Pro-D day, so there was no school.

  • Jane, we finally went to do your blood work this morning. You fainted at work and Dr. Chang wanted to check your iron levels along with a few other things.

  • Lila and George, while Jane was at the lab, we went on a whole bunch of “adventures.” We saw a bunch of little shops, looked at every single flower at a florist, asked questions and had a tour of a flotation therapy place, and admired the light fixtures and nail polish collection at a nail shop. Lila, you had your notebook with you and wrote things about each place.

  • Jane, we dropped you off at your friend Olivia’s house for a movie marathon. As we drove away, we saw a bear, so we stopped (inside the van!!) to watch it, then kinda followed it around the neighborhood as it moved. It was really fun to watch. George and Lila, you were so excited by the whole thing.

  • Katie, we came back home just as you were rolling out of bed. We needed to go to Costco to do some shopping, and you decided it was too much work to get dressed, so you came in your pajamas. I just shook my head, rolled my eyes, then laughed at how silly you are. To be honest, I was a tiny bit jealous. You looked pretty comfy and cozy.

  • At Costco we ran in to Cori! Cori and auntie Jenny were really close friends growing up in 100 Mile. It was nice to chat for a few minutes and catch up. I’ve always liked Cori a lot.

  • Lila, when we were at the mall yesterday, you announced you were ready to get your ears pierced! Wow. I’ve been waiting for you to take the lead on this. I wondered when it would happen. I called this morning and made an appointment at Defiance Tattoos and Piercing in Maple Ridge. You were so brave sweetheart! You sat up on the table and let her do her thing without even flinching.

  • I decided, since we were already there, to get my ear re-pierced. One of the holes on my left ear has been closed for a few years, so when I wear earrings, I have to use the second hole, and I always feel lopsided. Lila, you’re so pleased that we have matching earrings!

  • Katie, thank you so much for taking photos while we were there. I was trying to hold Lila’s hand and take photos at the same time, until you told me to hand it over. You did a great job!

  • George, you had your very first kid birthday party today. Anthony held his party at Poco Bowling. You made a card for him and attached it to the gift (a lightsaber). You walked into that bowling alley like you owned it. I gave you a little kiss goodbye and left. You are so confident and incredibly social.

  • Jane, I picked you up from Olivia’s house after dropping Georgie off. You three were so incredibly cute, I couldn’t help but ask for a photo. You said you had a great time. I’m glad you’ve made such nice friends in such a short amount of time.

  • Katie, I brought Jane back home, got you ready for soccer, then headed down to pick George up and take you to practice. It was pouring rain. I suppose you’re used to it after all these years, but I still can’t imagine having to be out in that weather. You put your contacts in in record time today. Nice work! You’re going to love wearing them, especially in the rain.
