Merry Christmas everyone!
George, you were the first one up. Of course you were. You’re never not the first one up. You woke Lila up, then Katie, then Jane Jane. You all went upstairs and opened your stockings first. Jane, you always get a jar of pickled asparagus. Katie, you get a jar of black olives. Then of course, the usual stuff. Katie, you said your stocking is your favorite part of Christmas because you can always count on it. I find that really cute.
Lila, there is always a mandarin orange in your stocking. You ate yours and commented that Santa’s oranges are soooooo much better than the oranges that i buy.
Jane, every year since you were little, dad signs one of your presents from Satan (because gets so confused with the spelling of Santa). You laugh every year. Grandma did not find it quite as amusing.
Grandpa made me a #2 Jimmy Special. It is an open face sandwich with bacon. I forgot that he likes to use chopsticks when he cooks bacon. Uncle Luke bought grandpa a new frying pan in the summer, and grandpa talked about it every single day we were there. He’s never had such an amazing frying pan. (The Rock frying pan from Canadian Tire)
Katie, I got you the Central Perk Lego set. It’s so adorable. You and I spent the morning and afternoon building it. It was my first time putting a set together, and I had the best time ever. Andrais was there to guide me through the process, as he is a master builder himself.
Lila, you got an excavation kit, and wasted no time at all getting down to work. I love that you wore the safety glasses. You also got a huge pack of slime. That was the one thing you asked for from Santa, and he delivered. You couldn’t believe your good luck.
We couldn’t find Zeus for a few minutes this afternoon. Grandpa found him fast asleep, hugging the base of the Christmas tree. What a silly little guy.
Grandma made a delicious turkey dinner and we all stuffed ourselves and went to bed happy and full.
