sisters on a boat
  • We had the most fabulous treat today! Vanessa invited us to go on a boat ride down Indian Arm. She joined a boat club and got her boating license, so she’s a sea captain now! What a treat. It was a spectacular Vancouver day with blue skies and popcorn clouds, snow on the mountains, and warm January sunshine.

  • George, as we were boarding the boat, you told us, “I’m too excited. This is so exciting!” You were oddly obsessed with the little heater. It really captured your imagination for some reason.

  • George and Lila, of course, as soon as we started out, you started singing Sponge Bob Square Pants. You’ve been really into that show lately, and I have to admit, I’ve caught myself laughing out loud during a few of the episodes.

  • Katie and Lila, you two were so cute snuggling up in the front of the boat enjoying the wind in your hair and the beautiful views.

  • We saw a couple seals. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the right lens on my camera to be able to photograph them well, but they were so cute. Lila, you said that was your very favorite part of the boat ride.

  • Jane, you couldn’t come with us because you spent the day with Donny and his family. When I went to pick you up just before dinner, I stepped into their house and it smelled SO GOOD. I felt like taking my shoes off and inviting myself in for dinner.

  • Daddy had a hockey game, so he couldn’t come either. Hopefully we’ll be able to go out again with Vanessa because it was a truly lovely experience.

  • Auntie Georgia came over for dinner and a movie night. We watched the first two episodes of the third season of A Series of Unfortunate Events. Oh my gosh. That series is so well done. The characters are incredible, the costumes are fantastic and the sets are unbelievable. So enjoyable to watch. And the nice thing is that our entire family loves it. It’s really hard to find movies that everyone is happy to watch.
