ken & mark

• I started my personal project today.  I had my first meeting with Ken and Mark.  We spent three hours together talking and telling stories.  I loved every minute of it.  I have rarely been in the presence of such honesty, love, and openness. They have incredible stories from their years together.  I video taped our conversation, made audio recordings of everything and took photos.  I'm still waiting to see exactly what this project will be, but I know I'm on the right track.  As I drove home, my heart was full to the brim and my head was whirring with thoughts and emotions.  I crave this kind of honest raw dialogue. 
• Katie, you regularly give me little pedicures.  You gave me one this morning, then offered one to Auntie Jenny.  Everyone joined in to help you. 
• Auntie Jenny and the kids left today.  It was great to have them here in our home.  
• Katie, you went to Fright Night with your soccer team tonight.  I have to say, your soccer team gets along surprisingly well.   Well...except for your coaches.  I missed the game because I was with Mark and Ken, but apparently two of your coaches got into a yelling/swearing match during the first half.  Yikes.  Hopefully that gets resolved soon and doesn't happen again.
• Jane, you were at Tia's birthday party today.  Her actual birthday is on Halloween.  I still can't decide whether that would be amazing or crappy for a kid.
