- We had a very Monday morning. No one wanted to get up. No one wanted to go to school.
- Lila, you were especially sad. When we arrived at your school you asked if we could snuggle. We sat outside your classroom and cuddled for a good long while, then went inside to read together. You were about to cry as I got up to leave, when Mrs. Bellet announced that it was your turn to be the special helper. The smile on your face was so sweet. You got to sit in the special chair and choose a couple friends to sit beside you. I loved watching you.
- Jane, you were feeling sick, so George and I went to the school to get you. George was super upset because our day together was being interrupted, but when he saw you, he ran over and hugged you and told you that he missed you. Very cute.
- George, you and I had a lovely nap together. I laid down with you just for a brief moment, and woke up two hours later. This time change is hard on all of us!
- Lila, we played after school until the sun set...which is pretty early now. You took your socks and shoes off. Actually, your socks and winter boots off. It's really cold today, but you still played barefoot.
- Katie, you were so happy after school. You said you had the best day ever. I asked why it was so amazing...it was because your class tortured a TOC all afternoon. Whaaaaat? I never thought I would hear something like that come out of your mouth. I couldn't decide whether to reprimand you or laugh, so I did a little of both.
- Katie, you asked me to play Bananagrams after dinner. We haven't played it for a long time. It's a great little game. I was so proud of my big word, absenteeism. I was proud of your creativity in turning a "c" sideways to make a "u". Good girl.
- I like to listen to Worship Music when I blog. It's so funny. Any other type of music distracts me far too much, but worship music? Perfect. I don't listen to it any other time. You all make fun of me, but whatever.
- Daddy told me a story about one of his students today. Daddy spent his entire lunch hour talking with him and even shared his lunch. I'm so proud of daddy. He seems to have a talent for connecting with the difficult kids in his class. I think he's going to be one of those teachers who makes a difference in a LOT of kids lives.
