ninja pool
  • I'm FINALLY starting to feel better.  Daddy gave me the day off yesterday.  I laid in bed and watched Netflix (13 Reasons Why...which is a whole blog post unto itself) and drank chamomile tea with 420 honey which was given to me by a friend who was aware of my need to unwind.  Worked like a charm.  And today I feel...what is this?...relaxed?  It's been years since I felt this way.  Daddy and I both got up, got breakfast for everyone, had coffee, then went back to our bed.  We snuggled for a couple hours.  You guys were so cute.  Each of you came in every once in a while to tell me or show me something.  I liked that you came in to connect with me every so often.  Connection is what it's all about, isn't it?
  • George, you've been playing nonstop with your little ninjas.  Your current obsession is making a ninja pool for them in the bathroom sink.  It keeps you busy for hours.  Actually, you don't call them ninjas...you call them Fruit Ninjas.  And for anyone who knows Ian, you'll know why.  Lol.
  • Lila, you're exceptional with building and making.  You're really creative with lego and need zero direction or help when making your creations.  Today you made a couple of airplanes for George's ninjas
  • Katie, you play solitaire when you have down time.  It reminds me of auntie Jenny.  She used to play solitaire, and all of it's variations, for hours and hours
  • George, you put your underwear on backwards today, but rejected any sort of suggestion that that might be the case
  • Katie, you and I went to the mall this afternoon because you needed new soccer cleats.  I generally don't like the mall, but with you, it's fun.  We laughed and giggled and joked the whole time.  We got you some great cleats, and I got sneakers and Birkenstocks.  It's been an embarrassingly long time since I bought shoes (I think about 4 years!), so it was great to find a couple things that I really love and feel great on my feet
  • As I was trying on shoes, I put on a pair of sandals, then stood up and looked at myself in the mirror.  There was a man standing to my right who said "those are cute."  I immediately congratulated myself on choosing such a stylish pair of shoes that a total stranger felt compelled to comment, then said an enthusiastic "thank you!"   ...and then I realized that he was talking to his wife who was also trying on shoes.  OMG.  So embarrassing!  The dude at the till started laughing at me.  And the other guy did too.  It was hilarious.  So glad I could provide them with a good giggle today
  • George, you are still adjusting to missing your afternoon nap.  You were pretty sleepy in the late afternoon and evening.  I think you dozed off on my bed for a bit while watching Ninjago
  • Now, it's no secret that I love a Big Mac.  I know there are a lot of McDonald's haters out there, but I'm not one of them.  When I was at Superstore a few days ago I saw the McDonald's Big Mac sauce.  Tonight we attempted our at home version.  It was delicious.  That sauce is magical.  Everyone enjoyed it except for George who said it was "biscusting," but what does he know about anything :)  Jane, you were in burger heaven
