love at the "picanit"
- I had an appointment this morning at 10:30, and I was thinking ahead about what we would do about lunch, since you guys generally like to eat around 11:00. I looked at the forecast, and there was no rain predicted (Wow!!!! A miracle!!!), and I was hit with a flash of inspiration. I suggested a picnic. Lila, you were all over that idea. You ran and found the little cooler, then got busy packing a lunch for us. You got three apples, three oranges, two water bottles, six cookies, and two whoopee cushions. It was a perfect picanit, as you call it
- We went to the little park in front of the Port Moody library/rec centre. The tulips were in full bloom and just gorgeous. We sat where we could see them, and under a big apple tree. The blossoms were snowing down on us as we ate
- George, I'm trying to see if you can go without an afternoon nap. The reasons are two-fold. It would be wonderful to have a little bit more freedom in my schedule during the day. It would also be wonderful to put you to bed earlier so that I have a bit more of an evening. We went on a loooooong walk around Burrard Inlet after our picnic to keep you busy and distracted. It seemed to work. And you went to bed tonight nice and early with no fussing. I like it
- Lila, you always like to know the names of the flowers we see. You were picking some today, but I didn't know what they were called so you asked me to text someone. I thought of Auntie Georgia. She usually knows all about flowers. Indeed, she knew. They were wild bleeding hearts. Then, you found another one that I didn't know so you asked me to text her again. Again, she knew. You were thrilled. You decided to pick a bouquet for her. We delivered them to her door and stayed a few minutes to snack on your Cheetos and have a little visit
