garage angel
Jane, I took the garbage down before we left for school today, and noticed the glorious light in the garage. You just happened to be wearing a cape (I’m not sure why…I didn’t ask) so it turned out to be a serendipitous photo moment. Thanks for being a good sport.
George, I kept you home with me again today. I’m giving you a four day weekend to reset your little body and brain. These full days are a lot for a little guy…you’re still only four! But your teacher says you’re doing sooooo well in kindergarten, and I was so happy to hear that.
Jane, your school went on a field trip to Buntzen Lake. I drove you and three others up there. It was one of those fall mornings that makes me want to cry. The leaves are beautiful, the sun is low and golden, and the air was crisp and fresh. It was a gift to the soul to be up there today.
George, you and I explored the beach while Jane went off with her school. I ran into someone daddy works with and had a nice long chat. George, you made friends with an older gentleman who was fishing. I watched you chatting with him about this, that and the other. You seem to have the gift of the gab. It’s a good thing!
Lila, the book fair has been at your school the last several days. You’ve had your eye on a poster and last night you finally got up the nerve to ask daddy if you could buy it. He said yes, so we went after school to get it. It’s a kitty wearing a unicorn horn with the caption “So Meowgical.” It’s ridiculous. And so awesome. You’re please as anything and hung it up by your bed.
Katie, you had soccer tonight. These Friday night practices are a bummer. It’s hard to get motivated to go when in your brain the weekend has already started. It’s good though that you have so many friends on your team because you all have fun together, so it makes it a little less painful.
George and Lila, we met Auntie Georgia at Lafarge Lake to go for a walk. Such a lovely evening. The sun set as we walked, and by the end, the bats had come out. It was fun to watch them flit past and you guys were thrilled every time you saw one.
