pretty jane jane
The sunrises are finally late enough that I can see them. I know I’ve said it a million times before, but this view never gets old. The morning fog on the river is just icing on the cake.
George and Lila, we got to school quite early, and I LOVED seeing you run off playing tag with your friends. How lovely to run and laugh in the morning sunshine before school even starts.
I finally had a quiet day to myself. I caught up on my blog (from August!) and did some housework. Amazing how housework is so much easier without any “helpers.”
It was such a lovely day today, I had toyed with the idea of taking everyone out of school to go to the beach, but the morning was so chilly and the Terry Fox fun was today, and I think it’s really important to remember and support our local hero.
George and Lila, after school I took you two to Mundy Park where we had a picnic. Lila, you looked and looked and looked for a four leaf clover but couldn’t find one, so you decided to make your own.
Then we moved on to Blue Mountain Park because it’s your favorite park of all time and I was making the most of this beautiful fall day. We went to the waterfall, then of course, you couldn’t help but get in the water. Of course. Water. It’s irresistible.
Jane, you went on your first date tonight. This event has been a hot topic of conversation in our family for the last few days. Yesterday Lila said, "Do you think we should sneak up on Jane and see what she’s doing on her date tomorrow?” And last night at dinner, George said, “Today I said in a loud big voice in kindergarten that Jane is having a date tomorrow,” and Lila responded with, “I told my teacher that Jane is going on a date with Adam…but I don’t even know what Adam looks like!” The whole story is that last fall, you, daddy and I went to an open house at iHub, and Adam had a table set up to display his rocks. I stood at the table for a while and watched and listened. I decided that you needed to marry him. He was just so passionate about his rocks…like really really passionate…and funny and smart and cute. The other day you came home almost bursting and told me that he had asked you on a date. I’m so happy. I can’t wait to get to know him a bit!
Jane, it was decided that daddy would drive you to your date because he would be less snoopy and invasive. I acknowledged that that was accurate and graciously gave the honors to him. He did, however, take a sneaky photo of you guys!! I’m so proud of him.
Katie, we went to the mall before soccer practice so you could buy the ring you’ve been coveting at Pandora. I can’t believe I didn’t get a photo of it, but I’ll take one tomorrow.
Auntie Georgia met us at Town Centre to do a few laps around the track. She’s learning how to walk again after her hip replacements and needs to practice without her cane. It was really fun. George and Lila, you had a great time running and being crazy. George, you cracked me up when you started doing the dance moves with the ladies who dance in the far corner of the track. You’re a real character.
