choir
- Katie, you needed to leave early for choir this morning. It was tough getting everyone out the door on time. Leaving even ten minutes earlier, makes our morning routine crazy and rushed.
- George and Lila, because we left early to get Katie to school, we were super early to yours. We played in the van until the bell rang. George, you kicked me out of the drivers seat so you and Lila could play up there. You guys have the best time pretending.
- Lila! You didn't cry this morning. Phew. Big sigh of relief. Maybe things are starting to fall into place for you. I still came in to your classroom and snuggled with you for a few minutes at the beginning of the day, but you didn't even protest when it was time for me to leave.
- Katie, your choir was performing for the future grade 6's. You know how much I love to hear you sing, so I dragged Georgie to your school to listen. It made me cry. I hadn't planned on video taping the performance, but half way through the first song I decided to record it because it was so damn beautiful and I wanted to remember it always. I wish I would have recorded the whole thing. I'll try to do that at the Kiwanis Festival when you perform there. Your music teacher is AMAZING. Her song selections are impeccable, and her direction hits the mark every single time. Her sister accompanies you, and I so enjoy hearing her play the piano. She's a true artist.
- Jane, things are really ramping up for your play. You were at rehearsal until 6:30 tonight and you have to be back at school at 10 tomorrow morning. It seems like I don't see you much anymore. I miss you! When you are home, you're usually tired, and you've always needed a lot of alone time, so you spend your free time catching up on yourself. I totally get it, but I still miss you.
- Jane, I got the munchies this evening and you so generously went to the store to get me some Doritos. You're an angel. You also got yourself some ice-cream while you were there. :)
