- Today was another sick day. Lila and George, you were both under the weather. Daddy took the big girls to school so we could just chill out and relax.
- The sun came out today. It fills me with hope and energy and motivation.
- Lila, you've decided to brush your hair all by yourself. It is a welcome change for me. You've always fought it and fussed so much when I've done it, so I'm pretty relieved you want to do it on your own now.
- George and Lila, we had a lovely quiet morning. We had an early lunch, then laid down for a rest. You both told me you weren't tired and didn't need a nap, so we "rested" for about three hours. We woke up at 3:00. Yikes! We were supposed to pick Katie up at 2:55 from school. We scrambled out the door and picked her up just a few minutes late.
- Daddy had a doctors appointment at 3:20 that I wanted to attend with him, so we got Katie and raced down there, and actually managed to arrive on time. I'm a force to be reckoned with...when I decide something needs to happen, it happens in a very timely manner.
- Jane, you had play rehearsal after school again...as usual. You still won't tell us anything about the play. I'm dying of curiosity. Can't wait to see you. And it's so exciting that Uncle Danny, Auntie Candy, Dareian and Ethan will be here to see you too!
- Jane, you were in the Tri-Cities newspaper yesterday in a story about your play. We found a copy of it this afternoon and brought it home for you. So fun! Tia's dad actually texted me yesterday to let me know you were in it, so I could get a copy.
- Katie, you had your third round of soccer evaluations tonight. It feels like we've been doing this for a long time now. This afternoon you told me about an Olympian, Sarah Wells, came to your school and spoke to you about perseverance. You said that because of things she spoke about, you were going to into this evening's evaluations with this mindset, "I'm going to play like I'm already a higher level soccer player and not play like I hope they let me play with a higher team." Amazing!!!! Atta girl. You also told me that Sarah Wells eats toast with peanut butter and bananas before every event, so you were doing to do the same...except for the banana part because you hate bananas. Oh Katie Bean, I love the growth I've seen in you the last year. I'm grateful that soccer has given you the opportunities to learn such valuable life lessons.
- Daddy and I are watching The Good Wife together. I've already seen it, but I suppose the beauty in having such a bad memory, is that I don't remember a lot of it. It's still as good the second time. Great characters and interesting story lines.
