christmas concert

• George and Lila, you had your dress rehearsal for your Christmas concert today. There is a two ticket per family rule, so we decided daddy and Jane would watch the performance tomorrow, and I would leave work early and go to the dress rehearsal with Auntie Georgia today.

• George, you have been telling me about the “stupid fabric things” you wear, and when your class walked into the gym, I understood what you meant. Your class performed the Drummer Boy. It was an original interpretation.

• Lila, I didn’t hear much about what you were going to perform. Your class performed A Space Odyssey on boom whackers. I have to say, it was a surprising combination. My favorite part of you being on stage was the cute little shy/pleased/excited/nervous smiles you would throw our way whenever we made eye contact. You’re adorable.

• Auntie Georgia came back to the house and stayed for dinner. She brought me cards for my birthday and our anniversary. How does she always manage to be so thoughtful???
