- George, you printed your entire name this morning, and were SO proud of yourself. Nice work kid! I bought you a pack of triangular shaped pens and they've made all the difference because they help you hold the pen properly. Plus, you feel special because you've got your very own pens. You call them your "leawning pens."
- Lila, your chore is to empty the dishwasher. You were ultra excited about it for the first four days. After that...not so much. Katie told you that the plates are supposed to be in rainbow order and you took that very seriously. I love looking into the cupboard and seeing that happy little stack of plates.
- Jane, you worked from 10-2 today. Thank you for giving me a little more time before we had to leave. I appreciated it.
- Katie, your charger broke, which is really hampering your life. You've had to leave your room every once in a while to charge your phone. I got excited because you were in my room and I thought you wanted to hang out with me, but it turns out you just needed my charger.
- Lila, I took you with me to do some errands. It's 32 degrees today, and there you were in your dinosaur Christmas pajamas. You're quite the kid.
- I'm so grouchy in the heat. I feel sorry for you guys. I can't stand anyone touching me or standing in the way of the fan.
- Jane, you made dinner tonight. You're cracking me up. I walked into the kitchen and asked you what you had made. You said, "It's a Filipino dish called Pancit. But I didn't have any cabbage, so I just put a whole bunch of things in there that I thought would be good." Where do you even come up with these dishes??? I'm loving it. Thank you so much for being so enthusiastic about cooking dinner for us. You also made everyone spinach dip to have as an evening snack. Delicious!
- Lila, we were at the dollar store this evening and you spotted two stuffies that you just HAD TO HAVE!!! I told you we could go home and count your money and see what you could afford. You were short by about 8 dollars. You came up with a brilliant plan. You asked everyone if you could do some work for them in exchange for coins. Jane paid you to start a load of laundry, Katie paid you to take the garbage down. I paid you to tidy the living room and daddy paid you to empty the dishwasher. You did the work quickly and happily. In the middle of it you told me, "I'm never going to give up even though I'm sweating. No, no, no. That would be silly to quit because I'm getting paid to do all this work." After you finished, you emptied your little container onto the living room floor and made one dollar piles. You had enough!!!
