two man band
George and Lila, you woke Jane and Katie up at 8:30 this morning so they could have their "teenagew Chwistmas." You had hidden wrapped presents around the living room. They first had to find the presents, then they could open them. Katie "won" because she found more presents than Jane. Jane was given a few Christmas napkins as a consolation prize. Katie got a bird decoration as her prize.
Katie, you received a unicorn, George's running shoes, a couple fish, a couple mega blocks, a spool of ribbon and a Christmas stocking.
Jane, you received a hedgehog, a pair of George's shorts, a Santa hat, a fake flower, a couple blocks and a flamingo box filled with ribbon.
After all the gifts were opened, Lila, you told the girls the grand prize was that you got to put all the toys away. Wow. Such a prize. The girls were so excited.
But really, George and Lila, this Christmas was almost as exciting as the real Christmas. You were so proud and delighted with your gift hunt and wrapping and watching them open them. It was all pretty sweet. And it was also very gracious of you big girls to happily get up so early and go along with the whole thing. You acted extremely surprised and delighted with each and every gift you opened.
George and Lila, the Teenager Christmas went so well, you decided to host another Christmas in the afternoon for Auntie Georgia. She received a similar list of gifts. Lila, you were especially excited when she unwrapped the flamingo box...which had more wrapped gifts inside. Your little giggles of excitement and anticipation were so darn cute.
Katie, you made dinner for us tonight. Butter chicken with naan. Oh my word. It was so good! You're really getting the hang of this cooking thing!
George, daddy was playing guitar on the deck and you got inspired to play drums with him. Auntie Georgia had the *amazing* idea to use the cookie tin as a drum. OMG. That cookie tin went home with her at the end of the evening.
Lila, you made your own instrument out of sticks, duct tape, elastic ribbon and a bow. You call it a Christmas harp. You came and proudly showed it to me. Then as you walked away, you said, "I have a really great brain." That you do, kid!
Auntie Georgia came over tonight so we could continue watching A Series of Unfortunate Events. It's so so so good. We all thoroughly enjoy it, from the little ones to the medium ones, to the old ones. Neil Patrick Harris is incredible.
