Totally Amazing

Totally Amazing
  • I had a great job tonight.  I got to photograph the gallery opening of Teresa Pocock's show Totally Amazing "Free to be Me" at Gallery Gachet.
  • Teresa is a advocate, poet and artist.  I'm not great at writing, but here's a link to a wonderful article written by Beverly Cramp: http://www.gallerieswest.ca/magazine/stories/outsider-artist/
  • Jane, the poem "More Mayonnaise" reminded me of you and your love of mayo:
You have to realize
I like mayonnaise.
You have to realize.
I am a self-advocate.
You have to realize.
I speak up.
I don't like people fighting over food.
Why is everybody fighting over food?
I don't like that.
Is strawberry jam high in sugar?
I don't want to lose weight.
I like mayonnaise and bread.
I am a self advocate.
Because I tell people what I want.
I am a self advocate.
And I want more mayonnaise!
Thank you.

  • My favorite poem, the one I kept coming back to over and over was "Heart Child" because I just loved this line:
My heart is full.
And I am dancing with love.
I am a heart child.
  • I think that line kind of sums up my life goals.  To have a full heart.  To be dancing with love.  How beautiful.
  • I got to work along side Cathy Browne, who introduced herself to me a blind photographer!  Whaaaaaat?  So amazing.  She's an incredible photographer and does beautiful work.  I was so honored and inspired to be working with her.  Here's a link to her instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cathy.browne/
